April 2026
Gem Sale at 92NY
Consider this your invitation to this month's gem sale!

Every spring I look forward to the week I table at The 92nd Street Y’s gem sale. The event, which is free and open to the public, is an incredible opportunity to share with visitors my passion for stones (I’ve never met a rock I didn’t like!) and all my best finds from around the world.

This season, my featured stone is Turquoise. As you may remember from my recent Dispatch back in December, Turquoise is a vibrant and dynamic stone that can be found in several regions beyond its popular association with the American South West. In fact, I will have a number of pieces for sale from a variety of geographic origins.

Additionally, I’ll have some beautifully bright strands of saphire for sale. Though most commonly known for being a deep blue, sapphires come in almost every color other than red. A number of varieties are sourced from Sri Lanka, particularly from Ratnapura which translates to the “city of gems”. Here, the local economy is centered around the gem trade and miners, traders, and exporters are able to work together directly to procure and sell gems of quality.

Join us in New York City from Sunday April 19th to Friday the 24th for a chance to take home a piece that will be bound to inspire.
The 92nd Street Y is located at 1365 Lexington Avenue. We will be set up on the 6th floor in the Jewelry Center. Open from 10 am to 6 pm each day, I hope to see you there!
